Donna Chesteen

eDiscovery, IP & Technology Attorney

Donna Chesteen, a founding member of The Tech Law Firm, PLLC, is a licensed attorney in both Florida and Mississippi. She has more than two decades of software engineering experience and was a technical leader at Symantec prior to becoming an attorney. She also earned a Masters in Computer Science and an MBA.

On the substantive side, Donna helps small to medium technology companies avoid the legal pitfalls associated with running their businesses. She can help in the areas of intellectual property protection (trademarks and copyrights), software licensing agreements, and technology service agreements.



On the procedural side, Donna’s practice is focused on helping other attorneys manage their ESI and eDiscovery issues. She can serve as a consultant on ESI matters or serve as co-counsel to the attorney-of-record by concentrating on the technological issues of the matter. She can also provide guidance in selecting an eDiscovery software vendor, supervising a technology assisted review (TAR) (also known as predictive coding) implementation, and many other areas in the eDiscovery process.



Donna is actively involved in the Orlando start-up technology community. The Tech Law Firm is a sponsor of both the Orlando Tech Meetup and Women and Minorities in Tech Central Florida Meetup. She is also an active participant in the eDiscovery community and is the Orlando liaison for ESI Roundtable. In addition, she is a member of the Orange Country Bar Association (OCBA) IP Committee and serves on the steering committee of the OCBA Technology committee. At the Florida Bar level, she is a member of both the Computer Law and Technology Committee and the Intellectual Property Committee of the Business Law Section (BLS). She is also involved with the eDiscovery Task Force of the BLS. In Mississippi, she is a member of both the Business Law and Intellectual Property sections of the Mississippi Bar.
